Rohtang Pass Trek – Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass on the eastern end of the Pir Panjal range of mountain, sits at an altitude of 13,050 ft. It connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul & Spiti valley of the Himachal Pradesh. The pass is named “Rohtang La” after the death of people working in bad weather and tried to cross the pass.

The journey starts from the Manali main market, crossing the single way bridge over the Beas river and moving along the opposite direction of the river. Excursion to Rohtang Pass

Start Point: Manali main market

Start Time: 10 am

Altitude: 13,051 ft

Drive: 100 km (6 – 7 hours)

  • Report at the Manali main market and meet with your driver cum guide.
  • Board your cab and start your journey to the mighty Rohtang Pass.
  • As you start from the market area, you cross a single way bridge and you move along the opposite flowing Beas river.
  • As you move along the way, you pass through many rental shops from where you can rent the winter jumpsuit, gumboots and other accessories. At every curve, the views to the valley open up and sense the temperature drop.
  • Few more km in the journey you reach the Gulaba checkpoint, you can do some munchings here as some of the locals decorated eatery shops are available here.
  • After reaching the Rohtang Pass, indulge in the various snow activities and capture each and every moment.
  • After spending enough time at the pass, get back to your respective cab and head back to the point from where you started.
