The capital of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, is located close to the foothills of the Himalayas. The 6-sided Ghanta Ghar clock tower serves as its focal point. A busy shopping district called Paltan Bazaar is to the southwest. The Sikh temple Gurdwara Nanaksar, which is to the east, has elaborate white and golden domes on top.
