Pangarchulla Peak Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath
Altitude: 6,150 ft.
Meal Included: Dinner
Stay type: Guesthouse Stay (Double / Triple sharing basis)
Drive: 260 km (9 hrs drive)
- Upon arriving at Rishikesh, book a cab to Joshimath.
- Get a glimpse of India’s 4 Major Confluences (Prayags) – Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag and Nandprayag.
- After a scenic drive, you’ll reach Joshimath by evening.
- Check in to your guest house, get fresh for dinner and later rest.
Day 2: Drive to Dhak & Trek to Gulling Top
Drive: 12 km (30 min)
Altitude: 9,600 ft.
Trek: 6 km (4 hours)
Stay Type: Tent Stay (Double / Triple sharing basis)
- Meal Included: Breakfast – Lunch – Evening Snacks – Dinner
- The day starts with hot breakfast with mountain views.
- Afterwards, drive to Dhak village, which is the starting point of this trek.
- Hike to Gulling Top, refilling at Karchi and later continue on the gradual & steep ascent crossing hillside villages, watching Dronagiri peak at few points on the trek.
- At Gulling Top, get the clear views of Dronagiri, Hathi Parvat and Gori Parvat.
- Later, have your dinner and retire for the day.
Day 3: Gulling Top to Khullara
Altitude: 9,600 ft. to 11,070 ft.
Trek: 4 km (5 hours)
Stay Type: Tent Stay (Double / Triple sharing basis)
Meal Included: Breakfast – Lunch – Evening Snacks – Dinner
- Enjoy a warm sumptuous breakfast by the magnificent peak-views.
- Head to Tali, crossing the mixed forest of Rhododendron, Oak and the walnuts.
- Refill your bottles on the way as you’ll gain an altitude of 11,070 ft. today.
- Enjoy the view to the peaks like Nanda Devi, Kalanka, Chang Bhang, Hathi Parvat, Gori Parvath etc. from the Khullara campsite.
- Later, rest your day after dinner.
Day 4: Khullara to Pangarchulla Peak & Back to Khullara
Altitude: 11,070 ft. to 15,069 ft. and back to 11,070 ft.
Trek: 20 km
Stay Type: Tent Stay (Double / Triple sharing basis)
Meal Included: Breakfast – Lunch – Evening Snacks – Dinner
- Starts early at around 4 AM in the morning.
- Prepare accordingly, as the summit climb is going to be long, exhausting, and cold.
- Start your trek, hiking on the steep ascent into Oak and Rhododendron forest, followed by an open large ridge.
- Trek light, as the trail has large boulder sections that sometimes pose a lot of problems.
- Experience the sense of challenge and achievement on reaching the top.
- Treat your eyes with a 360° view of Garhwal peaks including Nanda Ghunti and Trishul ranges right next to you.
- Later, follow your team leader to descend back to Khullara.
- Settle down for dinner and rest.
Day 5: Khullara to Joshimath via Dhak
Altitude: 11,070 ft. to 6,150 ft.
Trek: 8 km (approx. 7 hrs)
Drive: 13 km (30min)
Stay Type: Guesthouse Stay (Double / Triple sharing basis)
Meal Included: Breakfast – Lunch – Evening Snacks – Dinner
- Post breakfast, we’ll head to Joshimath today.
- Start your trek to Joshimath via Dhak village.
- After reaching Dhak village, ride on a shared cab to Joshimath.
- Check in to your guest house for the night.
- End your day with a hot meal.
Day 6: Joshimath to Rishikesh
Meal Included: Breakfast
Drive: 260 km (9 hr drive)
- Wake up, have your breakfast and pack up to sea-off.
- Book a cab and drive back to reach Rishikesh.
