Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Naggar to Patlikuhal, trek to Chaklani
Altitude: 10,400 ft
Drive: 5 km (15 min)
Trek: 6 km (5-6 hours)
Meal Included: Lunch – Evening snacks – Dinner
Stay Type: Stay in tents on a double/triple sharing basis
- Please note, the Chanderkhani Pass trek (which is also often misspelled as chandrakhani pass) starts from the Naggar village. So report at the Naggar base camp by 9 in the morning so that we can start the trek as soon as all the trekkers have gathered.
- From Naggar, we will have a short drive from Naggar to Patlikuhal which is only about 15 minutes long drive.
- The trek to Chaklani starts from Patlikuhal with pine, oak, and birch trees marking your way and offering bright colored flowers on the sides.
- Patlikhula to Chaklani is a steep ascend that is moderately difficult in nature. A gradual ascend on the grassy pastures will take you to Shedu Pather and further to Chalani.
- Alas, after about 6 hours of trek, you will reach the Chaklani campsite. The campsite is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and amazingly lush green meadows.
- Go walk around the grass and enjoy some quiet time. Savor the dinner and sleep a good night.
Day 2: Chaklani to Chadrakhani Pass, back to Chaklani
Altitude: 11,800 ft
Trek: 5 km (6-7 hours)
Meal Included: Breakfast – Lunch – Evening snacks – Dinner
Stay Type: Stay in tents on a double/triple sharing basis
- Wake up to a beautiful morning. After a short walk around the campsite, come to have your breakfast and get ready for an exciting trek.
- Today’s trek is a gradual uphill on a snowfield till the Chanderkhani Pass. Even in late summers, the pass is usually covered under a layer of snow till the month of May. But if you are lucky and the snow has melted, you will witness how stunning a field of meadows looks like.
- The majestic open views of the Dhauladhar and Peer Panjal ranges are visible from the peak of Chadarkhani Pass. Spend enough time at the pass and capture each and every moment to relish later. Though, we would advise you to find a corner and sit there for a while. The feeling that comes at this height is extraordinary.
- After spending enough time at your own convenience, it’s time to trek back to the Chaklani campsite. Enjoy the landscape while retracing your way back.
- We will have your dinner sorted by the time you come back. Devour the hot steaming dinner and sleep a good night.
Day 3: Chaklani to Patlikuhal, drive back to Naggar
Drive: 5 km (15 min)
Trek: 6 km (5-6 hours)
Meal Included: Breakfast
- We hope you had a beautiful day yesterday. Wake up to this refreshing morning and go for a short walk around the campsite. After you are ready, come to have your breakfast and pack your bags to descend.
- The route is going to be the same, so if by chance you have forgotten to click good pictures while ascending, this is the chance. Enjoy your way back to Naggar.
